White Supremacists Hack Democrat Chris Bubser’s (CA-08) Campaign Event
June 28, Victorville, CA -- The campaign of Chris Bubser reported that a private online campaign event held on June 28th was hacked by White Supremacists and Neo-Nazis. Bubser is a Democratic congressional candidate running in California’s 8th District.
The event, held on Zoom, featured Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) whose Q&A with attendees was hijacked by unauthorized actors who inserted violent and offensive imagery including swastikas, Ku Klux Klan rallies and pornography. The event was quickly suspended and attendees were reassembled via a new invitation.
Images projected by hackers.
“This illicit takeover of my campaign event was both traumatizing and sad,” said Chris Bubser. “It’s a complete abandonment of common decency and is indicative of the broken and ugly politics that is being fostered by career politicians in Washington. Now more than ever we need to heal this nation and I promise to be a uniting force. It’s the only way that we will solve the biggest problems that are plaguing our communities -- healthcare affordability and the COVID-19 pandemic, economic insecurity and unemployment.”
