The National Organization for Women PAC Awards Endorsement to Chris Bubser
Support for Bubser Among Women’s Organizations Continues to Gain Momentum
February 28, Victorville, CA -- The campaign of Chris Bubser announced today that the National Organization for Women's Political Action Committee (NOW PAC) has endorsed her run for Congress. The decision to support Bubser’s campaign was based on her dedication to feminist issues and her commitment to achieving full equality for women and girls. Bubser is the only woman running to represent California’s 8th and earlier this week she received the endorsement of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
“California NOW PAC was proud to recommend that NOW PAC endorse Chris Bubser in her bid for Congress. Our criteria for elevating women candidates is a demonstrated commitment and action across a range of social, political and economic issues that impact women. Chris meets that criteria and is the only and obvious choice in a CA-08,” said Kolieka Seigle, Chair of California NOW PAC. California NOW PAC vets and recommends the endorsement to the National PAC which officially endorses the race.
“I am so honored to receive validation for my campaign from such a powerful and iconic voice for women’s equality,” said Bubser. “Their mission today is as important as it ever has been. For the benefit of the women and families in the 8th, we must urgently address issues of constitutional equality, economic and healthcare justice, education, ending violence against women and environmental justice to lift up our communities.”
“Chris’s leading GOP opponents, Jay Obernolte and Tim Donnelly both have rock bottom ratings from national organizations that advocate for women’s equality, health or safety,” said the campaign’s manager Lindsay Barnes. “on virtually any matter that relates to the well being or prosperity of our community you can be certain that Chris’s opponents will try to enact policies that hold women back. ”
Since its founding in 1966, NOW has used grassroots activism to eliminate discrimination and achieve and protect the equal rights of all women and girls in all aspects of social, political and economic life. NOW PAC has worked to elect more women to the White House and Congress. NOW PAC’s aggressive grassroots organizing and early support for feminist candidates have been changing the faces of those elected to federal office.
