REPRESENTATIVE ERIC SWALWELL (CA-15) ENDORSES CHRIS BUBSER FOR CONGRESS
Updated: Jun 7
April 8th, Victorville, CA -- Today, Chris Bubser, the Democratic candidate for Congress for (CA-08) won the endorsement of Eric Swalwell, Representative for California’s 15th District. Swalwell’s show of confidence continues the Bubser campaign’s mounting list of California leaders at the federal, state and local levels who have signaled their enthusiasm for her.
"In challenging times we need leaders who will always put people first, not corporate politicians--that's why I'm proud to endorse Chris Bubser for Congress," said Representative Eric Swalwell. "Chris has the kind of biomedical expertise we desperately need more of right now. But more than that, she has shown she's willing to put in the work for the people of California's 8th. Her motivation is simple and powerful: to ensure all the people of the 8th have strong representation in Congress by a leader who will always listen to her constituents. We need more people like Chris in Congress." “I am so honored to receive Representative Swalwell’s support,” said Bubser. “Rep. Swalwell is a leader in Congress on issues that are fundamental to protecting and promoting our democracy. I look forward to working with him on those and other issues that matter to every Californian: quality, affordable healthcare for all, good, sustainable jobs, and a strong public education system for our children.” Bubser advanced to the general election last month and will compete for the open seat against Trump-endorsed Jay Obernolte. The voter registration gap between Democrats and Republicans has continued to narrow as CA-8th continues to diversity. The District is rated by national pundits better than several districts Democrats won in 2018. In recognition of these changes and the strength of her campaign, Bubser has received the endorsement of 15 of California’s Congressional delegates including Representatives Porter, Levin, Lieu, Chu, Sánchez, Brownley, Cisneros, Rouda, Torres, Aguilar, Huffman, Ruiz, Napalitano and Barragán. The 8th Congressional District stretches along much of California’s eastern border, and includes parts of San Bernardino County, and all of Inyo and Mono counties. The district includes, among others, the communities of Adelanto, Apple Valley, Barstow, Bishop, Hesperia, Highland, Lone Pine, Mammoth Lakes, Needles, Trona, Twentynine Palms, Victorville, Yucaipa, and Yucca Valley, and Joshua Tree and Death Valley National Parks.
