DEMOCRAT CHRIS BUBSER WINS ENDORSEMENT FROM CALIFORNIA LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS
Bubser Pledges to Protect Public Lands and Expand Clean Energy to Create Jobs and Combat Climate Change
For Immediate Release
November 22, Victorville, CA -- Today the California League of Conservation Voters (CLVC) announced the organization’s decision to back the campaign of Chris Bubser, the Democratic candidate for Congress (CA-08). This marks the first environmental conservation organization to endorse Bubser and follows closely the endorsement she received from the California Democratic Party earlier this week.
“We’re proud to support Chris Bubser for Congress," said Mike Young, Political & Organizing Director for CLCV. "Joshua Tree, Death Valley National Park, and all of the abundant public lands of the 8th need a real champion in Washington who is committed to protecting them from irresponsible development and corporate greed. Chris has the command of the science, passion for the environment, and grit to get things done in Congress so that future generations can enjoy the natural treasures of the 8th and thrive across California and the nation."
“I am so grateful to be recognized and supported by the CLVC,” said Bubser. “Our precious public lands have personally given some of the most memorable moments to my family and I pledge to protect those treasures for future generations. And I understand just how important public lands are to our local economy, which is why I will fight to make sure they aren’t scarred by pollution from drilling and mining and work hard to accelerate our transition to wind and solar energy.”
“Chris is an engineer and former biotech consultant whose position on climate change and environmental conservation is grounded in facts and science,” said Charlie Baran, political director for the Bubser campaign. “The California League of Conservation Voters has given GOP candidates Jay Obernolte and Tim Donnelly a zero and 7% rating respectively in the years they were last included in the organization’s environmental report card. That paints a pretty clear picture of who will be best for CA-08.”
The California League of Conservation Voters is a nonpartisan lobbying and educational organization which focuses on environmental issues affecting California. CLCV's mission is to protect California's environmental quality by increasing public awareness of the environmental performance of all elected officials, working to elect environmentally responsible candidates, and holding them accountable to the environmental agenda once elected.
The 8th District stretches along much of California’s eastern border, and includes parts of San Bernardino County, and all of Inyo and Mono counties.
