Four-term Democrat sees great potential for Bubser in CA-08
For Immediate Release
November 15, Victorville, CA -- Chris Bubser, the Democratic candidate for Congress in CA-08, announced that her campaign has been endorsed by Representative Julia Brownley (CA-26). This latest show of support comes as Bubser heads to the California Democratic Endorsing Convention this weekend where she will formally receive the endorsement of the California Democratic Party, following her unanimous recommendation by local party delegates.
“Chris and I share a similar background — we both come from a business career and were motivated into public service to ensure that our communities can access affordable healthcare and better education for our kids," said Representative Julia Brownley. "Providing for our veterans and protecting our environment are shared priorities as well. I won in a historically conservative district and Chris is on track to do the same in the 8th. I am happy to throw my support behind Chris and look forward to working with her on all of these vital issues and more."
As the voter registration gap in the district continues to tighten--now just a 3% Republican advantage--Bubser is picking up more interest from local and federal elected officials, community groups, and labor unions.
“I am honored and humbled to receive a vote of confidence from Representative Brownley. Having worked for a biotech company in her district early in my career, I’m very familiar with the growth of employment opportunities when new technology companies are encouraged to put roots down in new communities. I see the same potential in CA-08,” said Bubser. “I look forward to working with Rep. Brownley to address the housing affordability crisis, support working families, protect our environment, and expand access to affordable healthcare.”
The 8th District stretches along much of California’s eastern border, and includes most of San Bernardino County, and all of Inyo and Mono counties. The district includes, among others, the communities of Adelanto, Apple Valley, Barstow, Bishop, Hesperia, Highland, Lone Pine, Mammoth Lakes, Needles, Trona, Twentynine Palms, Victorville, Yucaipa and Yucca Valley, and Joshua Tree and Death Valley National Parks.
